Exotic Erotic Ball & Expo Celebrates 29th Year

SAN FRANCISCO — The 29th annual Exotic Erotic Ball and Expo is celebrating its move to San Francisco's Treasure Island by offering discounted room rates.

The Halloween extravaganza, which is being held on October 24-25, is billed as an "internationally acclaimed celebration of flesh, fantasy, and freedom."

"It's going to be our greatest show ever, and an unforgettable experience," Perry Mann, the show's founder, said. "And we want to make it easy for freedom-loving souls from throughout the U.S. to join us for what will be the ultimate celebration of our most important freedom of all — Freedom of Expression."

Four San Francisco hotels have joined with "The Ball" to welcome travelers at rates from $99-$175 per night, depending upon hotel and room type.

"About a third of our audience comes from outside California, and we want that number to grow," Mann said. "This year, we are not only able to deliver great rates, but we are passing along our hotel deals at cost, and if you choose to buy a VIP ticket to the Saturday Night Ball, you'll get a free admission ticket to the Expo which includes a full Erotic Arts Festival."

"We're honored that these fine hotels have chosen to partner with us as we bring The Ball to Treasure Island and back to San Francisco proper," Ball Producer Howard Mauskopf added. "The Radisson with its heated indoor pool, first-rate restaurant, and rooms at $99 per night sells out their block every year."

The Whitcomb is used to handling the needs of adult shows, hosting the International Leather Event; while the Renoir and Whitcomb are each integral supporters of San Francisco Pride Events, according to Mauskopf.

"These are the perfect partner hotels for our show. And Treasure Island, besides being beautiful and spacious, is also best known for hosting the 1939 World's Fair which featured Sally Rand's Nude Ranch as one of its highlights," Mauskopf said. "It's an ideal thematic fit, and we want to put the word out across the country, loud and clear — this is the year to make the trip."

"The Ball," which was recently featured on the Playboy TV reality program, "69 Sexy Things to do before You Die," offers live headline entertainment on five stages, including music, electronic, burlesque, circus, and fetish. It features more than 100 exhibits showcasing the latest in exotic fashion, adult products, games, websites, and novelties, plus panel discussions on First Amendment rights, fashion shows and more.
