Gallen Named XBiz World Editor-in-Chief

LOS ANGELES — XBiz publisher Alec Helmy has announced the promotion of Gretchen Gallen to editor-in-chief.

Gallen will direct the editorial content of XBiz World in her new position.

Gallen joined the XBiz team in 2003. During her tenure, she has overseen the growth of the online adult industry news site, as well as the launch of its print publication.

“XBiz recognizes and values professionalism, dedication, passion, loyalty and, of course, hard work,” Helmy said. “Gretchen joined us at a time when XBiz was a web-only media company. She has been instrumental in the launch and success of our print publication, XBiz World.”

Gallen has a long background in both Internet and print journalism. Her focus since joining XBiz has been on building a strong, reputable news organization and creating a forum for the adult entertainment community.

“I really enjoy the challenges of both mediums,” she said, “especially the fast-paced energy of newsroom, covering breaking news, and working with other writers to put together news content that is useful and informative for the adult community.

“We have a really tight team of award-winning journalists, and I’m proud to be a part of what we’ve built.”

Gallen said she and the XBiz editorial team strive every business day and on weekends to provide the adult industry with innovative, creative and insightful news coverage and feature articles.

“We all have as much fun over here as we work hard,” she added.
