Men of Odyssey's ‘Beach House Diaries’ on VOD

VAN NUYS, Calif. — Gay production company Men of Odyssey has made Jim Steele’s “Beach House Diaries” available on video-on-demand at the company’s website Menofogv.com. This is the first title from Men of Odyssey after the studio’s five-year hiatus.

“In this new market, VOD and downloading have become as common as rentals became in the '80s," Men of Odyssey’s Bob East said. “We were advised to hold off a while to put this on the web because it is thought it would hurt sales of the title. But we have had so many inquiries about VOD that we figured to give it a try on our own site which is still under construction, so this is like having a private screening room.”

The movie features Barrett Long, Brad Benton, Brant Moore, Christian Owen, Cole Ryan, Jesse Santana, John Wright, Luca Alexander, Romario and Tory Mason.

East told XBIZ that the title has been well-received and has fulfilled expectations as the first new release from a line that is getting re-established.

“Reviews have been good, sales have been good and it’s done exactly what we were hoping it would do, at this point, for a first release from a company that’s been dormant for a while,” he said.

Men of Odyssey a division of Sunshine Films, whose catalog contains many of the classic Men of Odyssey titles from the ‘90s. While the Men of Odyssey website is currently under construction, their VOD theatre is in operation.

“Sunshine has a state-of-the-art delivery system and will enable the consumer to have the best possible experience for their equipment type through its options,” East said.
