Pioneering Trans Performer Olivia Love Passes Away

ORLANDO, Fla. — Trailblazing trans performer Olivia Love passed away Thursday, according to family and industry friends and associates.

Love, who was reported to be 50, had been battling cancer and was surrounded by friends and family during her final hours.

Her IAFD credits show over 140 appearances from the mid-1990s until the late 2000s, when she retired from the industry. She received a TEA Lifetime Achievement Award.

Grooby CEO Steven Grooby, who shot her starting in 1999, hailed Love as “one of the trailblazing generation of trans models in the 1990s who made the leap from VHS to the internet, long before trans erotica was widely accepted.”

“I was lucky enough to get to know her, first meeting her at the Queen Mary on Ventura Boulevard in the late 1990s, and at parties and productions over the following decade,” Grooby added. “She was a vivacious, extremely funny girl, and a very important actress who appeared in hundreds of scenes, never letting the fact she was deaf hinder her in any way whatsoever. This is a very sad loss, and someone who was enjoying her life after porn, as a dog groomer in Florida.”

Longtime Grooby producer Buddy Wood said, “When I first started in this industry, there were a handful of girls that were trans porn superstars from the '90s and early 2000s and Olivia Love was definitely one of them. I was so nervous when I first met her, but we became very good friends and worked together often. There was a time when she and Morgan Bailey were always together, and we had some of the best times of my life!”

Fellow performer Morgan Bailey said, “In the early 2000s, I arrived in Los Angeles and met Olivia Love through our mutual friend, Buddy Wood. The three of us shared wild adventures — memories that remain vivid in my heart. But beyond Olivia, I came to know Crystal. Learning sign language brought us closer, creating a bond that transcended friendship. She became like a sister to me. Though time and distance caused us to drift apart, I hold tight to the moments we shared. Crystal’s love, laughter and spirit will live on in my heart and the stories we continue to tell. Rest easy, sweet lady.”

Domino Presley celebrated Love as “a true legend” in the industry.

“Her smile and laugh could light up a room,” Presley said. “I am sad to hear of her passing and wish her loved ones the best during this time.”
