Child Porn Bust Biggest Ever

CYBERSPACE – A child porn website operation has led investigators to a reported 300 leads with thousands more to follow, authorities reported on Tuesday. The Department of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement is calling the case one of the largest Internet child pornography investigations undertaken by the U.S. government.

The succession of leads followed the arrest of a website operator in Belarus called RegPay Co. Ltd. that ran an enterprise of more than 50 sites featuring child pornography. Since the January indictment, investigators have gradually tracked hundreds of subscribers to the site through credit card transactions. The RegPay bust is part of child porn task force Operation Predator.

The RegPay indictments included arrests spanning from Belarus, France, Spain, and New Jersey.

But according to authorities, what they have so far uncovered is just the tip of the iceberg and more than 100,000 subscribers to RegPay are being looked at in connection with child porn. Investigators are sifting through the leads in order of priority, the Department of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement stated, starting first with suspects who have contact with children via their professions.

Investigators are also looking into a credit card processing company based in Florida called Connections USA, which has revealed the names and credit cards numbers of more than 70,000 RegPay subscribers.

Two arrests have been made so far in the Las Vegas area in relation to the RegPay. Kenny Wynn, the younger brother of hotelier Steve Wynn is also one of the suspects in the investigation.
