afterglow's Lilly Sparks Profiled in Forbes Magazine

AUSTIN, Texas — afterglow’s Lilly Sparks has been featured in a new Forbes article, “Next-Generation Of SexTech Entrepreneurs Is Here, Disrupting The $37 Billion Sexual Wellness Market.”

The article highlights players in the sexual wellness field, and delineates afterglow’s desired demographic of people “who enjoy pleasure that is ethical, affirmative and explores real intimacy.”

“Prioritizing pleasure is difficult when we’re always trying to please others,” Sparks told the financial publication. “I realized I needed to create a space for ‘yes’ — a place that inspires great sex — so I created afterglow."

“Men want to see more focus on women’s pleasure, too,” she told Forbes’ Marija Butkovic.

Sparks also added that while the company’s Indiegogo fundraising was “a smashing success with considerable support behind it, and the industry itself is breaking down mainstream social barriers, many startups still struggle to achieve success because of the stigma surrounding the provocative content and vice clauses that prevent VCs from financing these emerging businesses.”

“I wish investors could see a blue ocean of opportunities they are missing out on,” she stressed.
