Tommy Pistol Co-Stars in Indie Comedy Pilot 'Corporate Bro'

LOS ANGELES — Tommy Pistol co-stars in "Corporate Bro," a mainstream indie comedy pilot released this week.

The pilot was released via YouTube on Wednesday, because, as creator and show lead Ross Pomerantz says in the intro to the pilot, "the apocalypse" disrupted their initial attempt to premiere the show in front of a crowd.

"Corporate Bro" is a workplace comedy, like "The Office" and "Silicon Valley," but focused on salespeople, "the part of Silicon Valley that Mike Judge missed," said Pomerantz.

The show takes place in the world of San Francisco tech, where a group of millennials work for a vague company called Machine Engineered Automated Technology (M.E.A.T.).

Pistol is a supporting regular in the main cast, all members of protagonist Chris's sales team. He plays Geronimo, a hipster-ish co-worker who is revealed to be an anti-vaxxer conspiracist.

"I'm really glad to be a part of the 'Corporate Bro' pilot," Pistol told XBIZ. "They've had a growing fanbase on Instagram and YouTube and they pulled the trigger and decided to finally do a pilot. There's a lot of great characters in it and it has huge potential to be a new hit show."

Pistol described playing Geronimo as "a lot of fun."

"I do weird, creepy really well!" Pistol, a multiple XBIZ Award winner for his acting roles, added. "Keeping my clothes on and just acting is actually a relief, also."

According to its creator, the show is about "the millennials who stumbled into this savage profession with nothing but charisma and a nicotine addiction. It's about the dialers who won't take no for an answer. The sales managers who are overly optimistic. This is for all the people who sometimes feel like just-a-number. This is our story."

Production of the "Corporate Bro" pilot was funded with the help of a Kickstarter campaign and was designed as a long-form version of the Instagram account of the same name. It was shot by Big Shooter Productions for $45,000 in Los Angeles and San Francisco.

Fans of adult-performers-in-mainstream will also recognize a brief cameo towards the end by Lauren Phillips, in the role of "Marketing Girl #2"
