Adult Empire Adds Bitcoin Payment Option

PITTSBURGH — Adult Empire is now accepting bitcoin, including bitcoin over the Lightning Network.

According to the company, it is one of the first major adult retailers to enable customers to make video on demand and pay-per-minute purchases using the popular cryptocurrency; and that since being added to the site more than eight months ago, Adult Empire’s bitcoin payments have seen continued growth.

The Lightning Network was developed in 2015 to enhance bitcoin’s scalability by enabling fast transactions among participating nodes.

“We see bitcoin and the Lightning Network as an integral part of the future of e-commerce and adult entertainment in particular,” said Adult Empire representative Madison Greene. “Adult Empire has long held a reputation for being at the cutting edge of technological innovation.”

“As always, we are committed to the privacy of our users and regard the implementation of bitcoin as vital to that process,” Greene added. “Additionally, our pricing is the same for bitcoin users as for those who use traditional credit cards.”

Bitcoin payments can also be made on other websites in the Adult Empire network, including AdultDVDEmpire.com, GayDVDEmpire.com, TlaVideo.com, Popporn.com and SugarInstant.com, with more sites planned in the future.
