SWOP Joins Forces With Woodhull, Offers Sex Worker Scholarship

LOS ANGELES — Sex Workers Outreach Project USA (SWOP-USA) has partnered with the Woodhull Freedom Foundation in support of the organization's Sexual Freedom Summit, held August 15-18 in Alexandria, Virginia.

SWOP-USA will be hosting a day long sex worker summit on Thursday, August 15th that will focus on policy and organization in an effort to better equip grassroots sex workers with information on community activism and advocacy. This event will only be open to current and former sex workers and will include a number of workshops that cover policy, outreach tactics and intersectional issues.

According to reps, "This institute will in-part focus on agitating for the decriminalization of sex work, however we also believe in a world beyond decriminalization, that includes economic and racial justice, and the dismantling of the prison industrial complex. This lens of beyond decriminalization will be central to the mission and content of the institute."

The remainder of the Summit will also include a track of sex worker-focused workshops, socials, and other events.
