Venus Berlin Pushes On, Despite Paris Cancellation

BERLIN — Organizers of the Venus series of European erotic trade fairs said this week that April’s Venus Paris was cancelled so that the organization could focus all its efforts on the upcoming Venus Berlin in October.

“The Venus in Berlin has established itself so well that both exhibitors and trade dealers from all over the world are concentrating exclusively on the exhibition in Berlin,” said Fair Manager Peter Buebel. “Proof of this can also be seen in the current registration status as regards exhibitors at the Venus 2007 — an increase of more than 40 percent on last year.”

Buebel said that every effort is being made to improve on past Venus events, which have grown significantly over the last 11 years.

“Our motto every year is that each new fair starts after each old one finishes,” Buebel said. “There’s no such thing as resting on our laurels.”

For this year’s show, new features include a lingerie area with a catwalk where visitors will be able to see the latest in lingerie fashion offered by Venus exhibitors, an expanded Venus Web Area, and a new press service for exhibitors.

“Via our press portal, all exhibitors can now present their latest and most innovative products to the media around the world,” Buebel said. “All an exhibitor has to do is send us the photos and texts and our press department will prepare them for more than 400 newspapers in 22 languages.”

This year’s Venus Berlin also will feature an appearance by one of the adult industry’s most famous figures.

“We can proudly announce that we already have confirmation that the living legend Larry Flynt will be coming,” Buebel said. “Hustler Europe will exhibit this year at the 11th Venus and apart from the great Larry Flynt, superstar Tera Patrick will also be traveling from the U.S. to Berlin especially for the event.”

The 11th annual Venus Berlin takes place this year October 18-21. For more information, go to Venus-Berlin.com
