Bree Olson Chooses GoFundMe to Get Her Into Rehab

INDIANAPOLIS — Bree Olson, the former adult star who has recently been doing live cam work for MyFreeCams, has started a GoFundMe campaign to raise money for her to be checked into an in-patient treatment program for her addiction to prescription drugs.

Olson, whose birth name is Rachel Oberlin, is seeking $100,000 to take care of the cost of three months in treatment to get her off drugs, which she claims took over her life after a stint in the porn industry.

“When I entered into the adult industry at age 18 as an escape from my childhood and to find myself, I never imagined how much worse things could become,” she said on GoFundMe. “I have spent the last decade masking my pain and losing myself even more so as doctors prescribed me mountains of benzodiazapines to make me feel better. I don't feel better. I've never felt worse."

Olson said she has health insurance that includes some behavioral health coverage but it is very limited to local treatment centers, “and they are not equipped to help someone in my position.” Olson said that last fall she moved back to her home state of Indiana from California to restart her life.

“All donations go directly to cost of in-patient treatment program and not to my mortgage, bills, flights, etc., while I am away,” she said. “I am refinancing my home and selling my possessions to take care of those things.”

Olson noted she’d like to get in treatment within the next 30 days, if possible.

“They said they have a bed and medical team ready to take me in,” she said.
