Age Verification to Be Examined at XBIZ London

LONDON — The upcoming XBIZ London international digital media trade show will include a special panel discussion devoted to age verification for online adult properties, along with the technological aspects for compliance.

For many in the adult industry, the call for age verification is equivalent to a call for censorship. However, for the past five years age verification has been required for video-on-demand adult content streamed in the U.K.

Now, a plan is in motion to make age verification a must for all adult sites, including foreign ones, if they are to be accessed in the U.K.

XBIZ London’s age verification session aims to comprehensively look at all of the options for online adult site operators as the push for further regulation gets heavy.

It also will spell out what company owners and other stakeholders should consider to keep their adult properties in compliance.

XBIZ London, running Sept. 15-18, will offer an all-new series of educational sessions this year, as well as numerous networking opportunities in Europe's largest adult consumer market, setting the stage for the continent's fall trade show circuit.

The Hilton DoubleTree Tower of London hotel is located in the heart of the city near the financial district and features complimentary Wi-Fi throughout the hotel, with an iMac in every guest room and a number of dining options on site, including the City Cafe restaurant and 12th floor rooftop SkyLounge bar that features a 360-degree view of greater London for intimate networking.

XBIZ London organizers are currently slating and firming up the seminar and event lineup. Already, some of the special events have been announced, including the Webmaster Football Match, which will be an opening-day highlight of the conference.

Participating webmasters and company executives will be provided custom jerseys featuring the individual's name and company.

Affiliates qualify for free registration, while members of XBIZ.net qualify for discounted event admission.
