Mr. Skin Website Turns 7

CHICAGO — With more than 13,500 actresses in its database and more than 6 million visitors per month, the promise of a glimpse of mere nudity has become an entrenched business and cultural force, with MrSkin.com turning seven years old.

The site, which catalogs clips, pictures and reviews of naked and semi-nude female actresses, began as a personal passion for Mr. Skin, but quickly grew into an empire built on giving users the encyclopedic source for all things flesh.

"What began as a teenage obsession has blossomed into booming business beyond my wildest dreams,” Mr. Skin said. “The past seven years have flown by as though I had my finger on some kind of fast-forward button.”

Mr. Skin, who launched the site in August 1999, said that within five minutes of opening for business, he received his first paying customer. Regular appearances on “The Howard Stern Show” that began in 2000 have continued to help grow his customer base.

In the years since its creation, the company has started up niche-targeted subsidiaries focusing on the Latina, Black and French celebrity niches, published a book — “Mr. Skin's Skincyclopedia: The A-to-Z Guide to Finding Your Favorite Actresses Naked” and launched its affiliate program — MrSkinCash.com.

Each year since its launch, the company has held its own version of the Oscars, giving out the Annual Anatomy Awards with categories that range from Best Nip-slip to Best Skinterracial Scene.

"The past seven years have brought us to new frontiers in movie nudity," Mr. Skin said. “We've been there for every big-screen strip-down, every sexy DVD and every wardrobe malfunction. I can't say what the next seven years may hold, but I can tell you that MrSkin.com will be there — as always, fast-forwarding to the good parts."
