Attorney Walters Offers 2257 Guidebook

ORLANDO, Fla. — Attorney Lawrence Walters of Weston, Garrou, De Witt & Walters has posted a 2257 inspection guide book for the adult entertainment industry to use in preparation for continuing record-keeping inspections.

According to Walters, who worked on the 12-page “What to Do in the Event of an Inspection” with partner Clyde De Witt and associate Marc Randazza, the guide book was written to alleviate fears and concerns that have grown out of two recent 2257 inspections of Chatsworth, Calif.-based Diabolic and Bethlehem, Pa.-based Sebastian Sloane Productions.

“We’ve seen a lot of apprehension and concern among our clients and within the industry in general,” Walters told XBIZ. “We wanted to come up with an easy to read guide for what to do in case of an inspection.”

The guidebook, which Walters stressed is not a substitute for legal advice, is posted free on the firm’s site.

Walters said that adult entertainment companies worried about inspections should contact their attorneys to make sure they are compliant with the federal law. The guidebook, according to Walters, serves as a step-by-step protocol for what companies should and should not do if they are inspected.

“2257 is the quintessential issue facing the industry,” Walters said. “Hopefully, the guidebook will go a long way to clearing up any fears and misperceptions regarding inspections.”
