Bree Olson Picks Up 'Kony 2012' Cause

LOS ANGELES — Jason Russell, co-founder of activist group Invisible Children and director of the trending viral short "Kony 2012," has been hospitalized for exhaustion. Russell was detained by police on Thursday for irrational behavior that, according to witnesses, included stripping nude and masturbating in public.

While Rusell's actions have puzzled most, they have also served to inspire former adult starlet Bree Olson to pick up the Invisible Children cause, which aims to bring awareness to the alleged crimes of the Lord's Resistance Army and its leader Joseph Kony against the children of Uganda.

The 25-year-old has released a YouTube video of her own to educate those who may not follow world events about Uganda's plight. In the clip, images of Ugandan atrocities are interspersed with footage of Olson writhing around in mud while wearing a red bikini and strolling along Los Angeles' famed skid row in booty shorts and tube top.

"I put the two together because I know a spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down," she explains in the video, adding that "the 'Kony 2012' documentary runs by the same principle. It's nice packaging on something that wouldn't be an inherently fascinating topic to that many people otherwise."

Russell's 30-minute "Kony 2012" docu-short has been viewed more than 80 million times. It can be seen here. To watch Olson’s video, go here.
