Porn Guardian Signs On as Platinum Sponsor of Phoenix Forum

NEW YORK — Anti-piracy service PornGuardian.com has signed on as a platinum sponsor of the Phoenix Forum.

“The Phoenix Forum is the biggest conference of the year, and we are excited to be a sponsor of the event for a second year,” Porn Guardian co-owner Dominic Ford said.

“We will be signing new clients, offering a show discount and also introducing our new Legal Action initiative.”

Porn Guardian Legal Action will be bringing lawsuits against repeat infringers, pirate blogs and file hosting companies on behalf of its clients.

“The landscape of piracy is changing quickly, as evidenced by the recent federal actions against MegaUpload, and the reactions by several other filesharing sites,” Ford said.

“Now, more than ever, content producers are relying on Porn Guardian to be on the forefront in the war against piracy.”

Porn Guardian uses a combination of internal staff and automated tools to locate clients’ content. Once found, the system automatically sends out DMCAs and tracks their progress, the company said.

Porn Guardian also offers a fingerprinting service to its users.

“We need to stop piracy where it starts: on our clients’ sites,” Porn Guardian co-owner Peter Phinney said.

“Our fingerprinting service embeds information into each downloaded video, which lets us track which of our clients’ members is the original pirate. Stopping the initial pirates is the most effective way to stop piracy.”

The company provides free consulting services to its clients on how to secure their own sites from hackers.
