Slutload, Pink Visual Settle Infringement Suit

NEW YORK — Pink Visual, which sued Slutload.com last December over allegedly infringing on 53 of its films, has settled its case with the tube site's operator.

Ryan Milnes, who owns Slutload.com and operates the site out of Canada, had been sued last fall by Pink Visual and Private Media Group over similar infringement claims. In February, Milnes and Private settled their case for an unspecified amount.

In the Pink Visual case, Allison Vivas said that the settlement’s terms will remain confidential, with the exception that Slutload agreed to adopt and employ digital fingerprint filtering technology offered through the Free Speech Coalition’s Anti-Piracy Action Plan, or APAP.

A federal judge at U.S. District Court in New York recently signed off on the Pink Visual-Milnes settlement.

“We’re serious about enforcing our intellectual property rights, and we’re equally serious about carrying out that enforcement in a way that produces a benefit to the industry as a whole,” Vivas said. “With each new user-generated content site that agrees to adopt this technology, the advantages of participating in the APAP program as a content owner and rights-holder increase.

"For all producers already taking part in APAP, whether they are using the program as a means to identify and remove infringing content, or for the traffic monetization component, as soon as slutload.com finishes integrating the filtering on their end, these studios will benefit, automatically, without so much as lifting a finger.”

In a Pink Visual release, Milnes said he’s pleased to have the matter settled and hopes that other tube site owners might follow suit with adopting digital fingerprint filtering on a voluntary basis.

Slutload.com, which has an Alex traffic rank of 416, is one of the highest-ranking websites. According to Private's suit, Slutload has 5 million U.S.-based surfers each month that generate “million of dollars in annual revenue” from advertisements others place on the site.
