XBIZ Magazine Names Allison Vivas 'Woman of the Year'

LOS ANGELES — Leading adult industry media organization, XBIZ, is pleased to announce its naming of Pink Visual President Allison Vivas as its 2011 "Woman of the Year."

The award was presented to Vivas at the recent XBIZ Awards, the adult entertainment industry's biggest business award show, held at the Hollywood Palladium on Feb. 9.

"Allison is one of the industry's most respected, experienced and progressive executives," XBIZ Founder and President Alec Helmy stated. "As such, she epitomizes the intent and spirit of the XBIZ Awards, which honor industry excellence."

"From her leadership of one of adult's biggest enterprises, to her dedicated involvement at the forefront of antipiracy efforts, to her long-term support of our industry, Vivas exemplifies what 'being the best' is all about," Helmy added. "It is with great pleasure that we honor her as our Woman of the Year."

"It is an enormous honor to be selected as Woman of the Year by XBIZ," Vivas said. "To me, this is less about any personal achievement on my part than it is a reflection of the contributions made by the whole team here at Pink Visual, and our successful collective effort to redefine ourselves as a company over the last year," she added, humbly acknowledging the top-rate team which has provided her with essential support. "I will proudly accept this award on behalf of all women and men at Pink Visual."

"Allison has had tremendous success in organizing the industry to fight copyright infringement," Free Speech Coalition (FSC) Executive Director, Diane Duke, told XBIZ. "She is a brilliant strategist and truly gifted at seeing the big picture… she is an excellent choice!"

Association of Sites Advocating Child Protection (ASACP) CEO Joan Irvine echoed Duke's sentiments, telling XBIZ that "Allison is an excellent example of a forward thinking executive who is keeping her company on both the cutting edge and in a profitable position."

"It is always great to see a woman being honored for her business and technical expertise," Irvine added.

Vivas also presented the keynote address at digital media conference XBIZ LA, where she provided a personal industry retrospective and insider's outlook at the future of adult entertainment media.
