Wet Offers Safe Sex Kits at L.A.'s Test-Fest 2009

LOS ANGELES — Personal lubricant and intimacy product manufacturer Wet International donated 2,000 safe sex kits for distribution at Test-Fest 2009, an HIV testing event held July 25 at Ted Watkins Memorial Park in South Los Angeles.

“We were thrilled to be able to participate in an event that educates people on the seriousness of a disease that already affects 60,000 people in Los Angeles County alone,” said Wet spokesperson Jennifer Martsolf. “Wet has a strong commitment to lifesaving sex education and by providing these kits and information, we are able to help educate people on the importance of safe sex and provide them with the tools they need to live a healthy sexual lifestyle.”

To encourage HIV testing, Test-Fest had 13 testing vans onsite. The Wet Safe Sex Kit that was provided contained a condom and a sample of Wet Platinum Premium Lubricant in a package printed with information regarding safe sex.

Test-Fest was launched by CBS Radio L.A., parent company of seven Los Angeles-area radio stations including KFWB, KNX and KROQ, in partnership with the Office of AIDS Programs and Policies of the Los Angeles County Public Health Department, the L.A. County Department of Public Works, L.A. County Parks and Recreation and a number of AIDS service organizations. Exhibitors and participants included the L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center, Kogi BBQ, the L.A. County Fire Dept., OraSure Technologies, Party Devine, Project Angel Food and Good Neighbor Pharmacy.

Wet International's parent company Trigg Laboratories was founded in 1989 and manufactures sexual-wellness and consumer-healthcare products. Currently available in 62 countries, Wet International products are sold by adult specialty boutiques and mainstream food, drug and mass merchandise retail outlets, including major U.S. drugstore chains.
